Lawrence S. Guy of Chalfont passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at home doing what he loved, reading the newspaper and taking care of loved ones. He was 89.
He graduated from Bartram High School in 1953. He started out in the home improvement trade, later retiring from Merck, Sharp & Dohme after a 20 year career. He was a key member of the Broad Axe Tavern family.
In his youth, Lawrence performed with his cousins, Bernard Richardson and Ronald Guy in the group “The Three Crowns.” He enjoyed taking care of his many fish tanks and his beloved dogs, Freckles and Caesar. He loved filling his days with may interests, including listening to Gospel music, reading the newspaper, speaking on the phone with loved ones, finding the best deals on anything he bought and his latest passion, Youtube.
He is survived by his sons: Laurence Guy and Troy Ramseur and his daughter, Diane Ramsuer, his amazing granddaughters: Savannah and Gianna Ramseut, as well as his beloved little sister, Viola Guy Evans and a host of family, including nieces and nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service at 10 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2024 at St. John A.M.E. of Paschall, 2114 South 71st Street, Philadelphia, where the family will greet guests from 8 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Mount Lawn Cemetery, Sharon Hill.
