Edwin J. Banta

January 31, 2019

Edwin Joseph Banta, age 61, passed away on Thursday, January 31st.

Ed was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was the son of Alma and Ed Banta.

He was a devoted and loving father.

In addition to his parents, Ed is survived by his two beloved children: Jeri Di Girolamo (John) and Autumn Banta (Michael); one adoring grandchild, Jack; his siblings: Mary Elizabeth Mondelli (Frank), Alma Simakowicz (Gene), Mary Theresa Banta, Mary Anne Nelson (Michael), Clare Clark (Ray) and Stephen Banta (Paras), as well as three nieces and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Madeline.

Ed grew up in Levittown, Pennsylvania, having graduated from Holy Ghost Prep High School and Franklin and Marshall College. He received his Master’s degree in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University.

Ed was passionate about his family, his work and his music. Most of all, he loved spending time with his daughters. They had so much fun going on long car rides and talking, spending time at the beach and Disney World, going to the movies and listening to their favorite songs. Spending time with his children, grandchild, family and friends was Ed’s favorite pastime. His greatest talent was making his daughters feel loved and special. Ed was known for his amazing conversations especially about his kids and life. We will all miss the life lessons with Ed Banta. Much of Ed’s free time was spent with his best friends Mike, Bob and Jon jamming and creating the music they all loved. He enjoyed his colleagues at CRB and the relationships he had there. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ed always made everything more fun with his unique sense of humor. He will always be in our hearts as E Money and Cabo Ed.
