William J. Hallman, of Doylestown, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Pine Run Community. He was 77 and the husband of Jane (Andre) Hallman.
Born in Altoona, he was the son of the late James and Marie Newton Hallman.
Bill taught 5th and 6th grade for over 30 years at Doyle Elementary School. He was the marching and design instructor for CB East, CB West, North Penn, Pennridge, Upper Dublin and Berwick High Schools, instructing for over 35 years. He also coached softball (local and travel) and basketball.
Music was a very important aspect to Bill’s life. He was part of the drum corps and brass bands his entire life. He also enjoyed the sounds of big band and jazz.
Bill was an avid reader and enjoyed Science Fiction, History and Western books and movies.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Andrea (Jeffrey), of Doylestown and Karena (Tom), of Lititz; five grandchildren: Renee (Christopher), Tommy, Tara, Nathan and Billy and one great-granddaughter, Saban, as well as his brother: Clark (Patti), of South Dakota
Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service 11 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2018 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown where friends may call at 10 a.m. prior to the service. A private interment will be in Doylestown Cemetery.
