William E. Houghton, a long time resident of Doylestown, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018. He was 81. He was the husband of Barbara Gordon (Lum) Houghton.
Born in New York City, New York, he was the son of the late William Emmett Houghton, and Marian Cadle Houghton of Bernardsville, New Jersey.
He graduated from Lower Merion High School, Ardmore. PA and Syracuse University class of 1959 with a B.S. in history. He was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. After thirty eight years with Allied Chemical (Allied Signal) and now Honeywell, he retired as Director of Raw Material and Energy Purchasing.
ln addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: William E. Houghton lllof Boiling Springs, PA, Mylene Allison Greenwood (Jeffrey) of Doylestown, and Peter Allen Houghton of Salt Lake City, UT as well as two grandchildren: Brian Austin Greenwood and Eric Lehne Greenwood, both of Doylestown. He also is survived by his sister, Anne Hopkins, of Jacksonville, FL.
