William Charles Dietz of Chalfont passed away on Friday, July 28 suddenly at home. He was 78 and the significant other of Marilyn Byrne.

Born and raised in Doylestown, he was the son of the late Fred and Edna Richar Leer.

Bill was a graduate of Central Bucks High School and Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt. and is a combat war veteran of the Vietnam War. Bill worked for the U.S. Post Office for 23 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and importantly spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children: Keith (Misty) Dietz, Kyle (Marly) Dietz, Sharon (Martin) Joyce and John Mulroney, as well as his grandchildren: Dylan Dietz, Kaitlyn Dietz, Aidan Dietz, Olivia Dietz, Christian Joyce, Cieran Grace Joyce and Hailey Mulroney. Bill was predeceased by his brothers: Jay Dietz and Fred Dietz.

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 11 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 850 Highland Road, Newtown. (All are requested to arrive no later than 10:15 a.m.)

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bills’ name may be made to: Chalfont VFW Post 3258, 40 North Main St, Chalfont, PA 18914.
