Viola R. Sickel of Doylestown passed away on Saturday February 3, 2018 at Christ’s Home. She was 96 years old and the wife of the late William R. Sickel, having celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary prior to his passing.
Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mabel Kibeler Rosenberger.
Viola graduated from Doylestown High School, Class of 1939. She worked as a clerk at the Bucks County Court House for eight years before joining her husband in the Rushland grocery store.
Viola was a life long member of Salem United Church of Christ and directed the bell choir for eight years. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, calligraphy, ball room dancing and extensive traveling.
She is survived by her daughter: Diane Carr, her husband, Don, of Warminster and her grandchildren: Jennifer and Jason Carr.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday, February 9 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home,
2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where the family will receive guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment
will follow in Doylestown Cemetery.
