Tommy J. Prugh died Feb. 5, 2018. He was 92.
Born and raised in Ill., he was the son of the late John and Mary Davis Prugh.
Tom was a resident of Doylestown Township for 54 years. As a veteran, he served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II, traveling the world’s oceans and continents.
He was a graduate of Lafayette College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and holds patents for his industrial manufacturing inventions.
Tommy’s interests were expansive which included continuing studies in ichthyology, ornithology, world farming and opera.
He was a long-time volunteer with the American Red Cross Blood Drives and Disaster Relief. He and his wife received a PA State Dynamic Duo Award for their countless hours of service.
He will be greatly missed by his family: wife of 70 years, Lorraine DeRewal Prugh; his daughters: Karen Prugh Shade, (Thomas), Patti Prugh, (Jed Fishman) and his grandchildren, Stephanie Mykonos (Daniel Blumenthal), MaryBeth Hyland (James), Bradford Shade, Gregory Shade (Malia)and Allison Shade, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at a later date.
