Thomas A. Gash

d. May 22, 2024

Thomas A. Gash of Danboro, Pennsylvania passed away on May 22, 2024 at Harborview Rehabilitation and Care Center in Doylestown. He was 86 years old and the husband of Sandra E. (Pillsbury) Gash.

Born in East Lansdown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William H. Gash and Elenor Uhl Gash.

Following high school, Thomas served as a parachute rigger at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station. He spent part of his tour of duty in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Following his time in the Naval Reserves, Thomas started Tom Gash Plumbing and Heating in 1971. He continued to be a respected and valued plumber in the area for over fifty years. Many local families and businesses will miss his dedicated and honest work in the field. In addition to working tirelessly for his family and friends, Thomas was a member of the local chapters of the Maennerchor Society, Moose Fraternity, and the Knights of Columbus.

Thomas, or “Pop” as he was called by his children, enjoyed many hobbies and leisure activities. When not working or caring for his household, he could be found at the local bowling alley, on the golf course with friends, or swindling his buddies at the Maennerchor pool table. Above all, Pop enjoyed bringing joy to the hearts of those he spent time with. Proverbs 22:1 says, “A good name is to be chosen rather than great wealth; To be respected is better than silver and gold”. And to that end, Thomas lived a very rich and fulfilling life. His ultimate legacy can be found in the number of people that have enriched their lives through acquaintance with him.

In addition to his beautiful wife, Sandy, he is survived by his three children: daughter, Jeanne Schmalz, along with her friend, Wayne Drews; daughter, Dottie Moores, her husband Bud, and
son, Thomas “Tommy” Gash, Jr., as well as his grandchildren: Jason and Kelly Schmalz, and Nicole, her husband, Matthew Kingsbury; Jenny Moores; Emily, Sofie, and Penny Gash and Pop’s great- grandson, Lucas.

All of us look forward to one day being reunited with Pop, his family, and his deceased daughter, Catherine Ann. Thanks to our God who comforts us with the promise that “they are all living to him”. (Luke 20:38)
