S. Blanche Wehrung, of Upper Black Eddy, was called home to be with her Lord
and Savior on Sunday March 4, 2018. She was 95 and the wife of the late
Woodrow “Woody” Wehrung.
Born in Ferndale, PA she was the daughter of the late Peter and Verna Stone
Bartman and sister of the late Doris Pierson.
Blanche served in the Navy for two years during WW II.
Blanche was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Ferndale. She served
on various committees and was active in church activities. She and Woody
were co-founders of their business in 1946 located in Ottsville, PA.
Blanche is survived by her son: Vernon C. Wehrung, his wife, Jean, of Upper
Black Eddy; three grandchildren: Kelly, Jeffrey, his wife, Kim, and Jason;
seven great-grandchildren: Paul, Daven, Ruthie, Lillie, Boone, Ammon and
Mae. Also surviving is her sister, Rowena Krause, of Whiting, NJ, as well
as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 11 a.m. Friday,
March 9, 2018 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 470 Church Hill Road, Ferndale,
where the family will receive guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the
service. There will also be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 8
at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown.
Interment will follow the service in Nockamixon Union Cemetery, Ferndale.
