Ruth Ann Hager, a life long resident of Doylestown passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 79.
Born in Doylestown, she was the daughter of the late Edwin T. and Ada Haldeman Scarborough.
Ruth was a 1955 graduate of Central Bucks High School. She worked for the Central Bucks School District at Gayman Elementary and for the Bucks County Intermediate Unit for many years.
Her greatest and favorite roles were wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and was active member of the community having served as a counsel woman in the 70’s and 80’s and played an important role in many community revivalism projects.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Stanley Hager, her four children: Rose, William, Ruth and Patricia, as well as her seven grandchildren and her three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas A. Kilmer.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service, 11 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2017, at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown where the family will receive guests from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Beulah Cemetery, New Britain.
