Robert Franklin (Bob) Daily passed away peacefully at Neshaminy Manor on April 4. He was 94 and predeceased by his loving wife, Ruth, in 2011.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Bob lived in Morristown, NJ prior to graduating from Princeton University and joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942. He participated in the Battle of lwo Jima as a First Lieutenant and was part of the occupational forces in Japan. He received a citation for heroic service in the line of duty on lwo Jima and was later promoted to Captain.
Bob worked for Smith Kline & French (now GlaxoSmithKline) from 1947 until 1986. He spent 22 years in Canada (1950 -I972) living in Montreal and serving as President of SK&F Canada. He resided another 20 years in Radnor, PA and had overall responsibility for Smith Kline’s international markets. He later moved to Jamison, after having lived in Vero Beach, FL.
Bob loved to play bridge and was an avid golfer.
He will be fondly remembered by his family as a loving husband, great father, grandfather and wonderful father-in-law and grandfather-in-law.
Bob is survived by beloved sons: Robert (Louise) and Steven (partner, Elizabeth), as well as his grandchildren: James (Joanne), Matthew, Evan, Nicholas and Jennifer.
His memorial service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 20th at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where the family will receive guests from 9 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will follow the service in Hilltop Cemetery, Mendham. NJ.
