Robert A. Pfunke, born in Philadelphia and a resident of Richboro for the past 63 years passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. He was 93 and the husband for 52 years of the beloved Ruth M. Pfunke, who passed away in 1999.
He was an Army of the United States World War II veteran having served with the 65th Armored Infantry Battalion, 20th Armored Division.
Following his retirement from the Budd Company as a manager in the railcar division, he spent much of his time enjoying his many hobbies. Some of these included his love of trains, water color painting and woodworking, having built many custom furniture pieces for his daughters.
He loved to travel and had visited all 50 states. One of his favorite vacation spots was Disney World.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Susan Pfunke, of Warrington, his grandson, Christopher Bober, and son-in-law, Michael Bober, both of Doylestown. He was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Nancy Bober, in 2016.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 10 a.m., Saturday, February 4 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown where the family will receive guests from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville.
