Rev. David Wilson Haines of Quakertown passed away on Monday, February 20. He was 90 years old, having been faithfully married to Roxie Hoover Haines for 61 years and the loving father of five children, nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Born in Irvington, New Jersey, he was the eldest of five sons of the late Edna May Thevenet and David Andrew Haines.
He faithfully served as a senior Pastor of five churches including: Grand Prairie Bible Church, (Tx.), Emerson Bible Church, (NJ), Church of the Open Door (Pa.), First Baptist Church of Doylestown (Pa.) and started the Palisades Community Bible Church in Revere.
He committed his life to faithfully preaching the Word of God and being a shepherd to those who
worshiped under his ministries. He wanted his life to reflect the love and grace of Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. He lived a life dedicated to glorifying the Lord and now he is hearing the words from his Savior,” . . . Well done, good and faithful servant . . .” Matthew 25:23.
He was a proud veteran of World War ll serving in the United States Navy and will be laid to rest as a war veteran at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in a private family ceremony.
A public memorial and celebration of his life service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, February 25 at Calvary Church of Souderton, 820 Route 113, Souderton, where the family will receive guests from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
