Pinky Hampton of New Britain passed away on February 11, 2O19 at her home. She was 89 years and the beloved wife of the late Earl W. Hampton Sr., who passed in 2015.
Born in Doylestown, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Edith Lake Elliott.
Pinky worked as a secretary throughout her life. Her last job prior to retiring was postal clerk at Forest Grove Post Office.
She was a volunteer at Doylestown Hospital for many years, a member of Midway Fire Company Auxiliary and a member of Doylestown Chapter No. 327 of the Order of the Eastern Star for 70 years and was a leader with The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
Pinky was a long time member of Forest Grove Presbyterian Church, where she served as Elder, Clerk of Session, Sunday School Teacher, choir member and a member in the Women’s Organization. She enjoyed time with her family and going on many cruises and traveling with Earl.
Pinky will be remembered for her strong Christian faith and lively spirit.
She is survived by her sons: Jim Hampton (Sue) of New Britain and Earl “Chip” Hampton Jr. (Debbie Johnson) of Tunkhannock: her five grandchildren: Jason, Rebecca, Earl, III ‘Bill’ (Jodie), Kari, and Kyle (Elin); her great-granddaughter: Claire, and great-grandsons: Lucas and Phoenix.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Forest Grove Presbyterian Church, 1865 Forest Grove Road, Forest Grove, where the family will greet guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will follow the service in Forest Grove Cemetery.
