Phyllis C. Cassidy of Doylestown passed away on Friday, February 12 at Pine Run Health Care. She was 94 and the wife of the late Rev. William A. Cassidy who passed in 1982.
Born in Three Springs, Huntingdon County, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace G. Whann.
Phyllis had been an accredited medical librarian early in her career, having worked in various hospitals in western Pennsylvania, including Greenville Hospital until the passing of her husband at which time she moved to Ardmore, attaining a Bachelor’s of Social Work in 1989. She worked for Montgomery County Eldernet until 2008 at which time she retired to Pine Run Community.
She had many interests, including sculpting, pottery, drawing and painting. However, Phyllis was most creative with her writing, having stories in various minor publications.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Dennis E. Cassidy, four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; a sister, Dorothy Socher; a brother-in-law, Frank Kuna and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services and interment will be private.
