Pat Cosgrove was a lifelong student and teacher. She left this world suddenly on April 13, 2021 at the age of 86.
Pat was born in Manayunk, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Agnes Cosgrove.
She was named “Personality Girl” in her freshman year, and has blessed countless lives with her love and sharp wit ever since.
Following graduation from high school, Pat became a Sister of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and met her lifelong partner, Agnes. Soon after, they decided to open their own schoolhouse in Wilmington, Delaware. From 1970 until 1995, the halls of R.O.M.P. Discovery Center were filled with flag ceremonies, murals and the laughter of young learners.
Pat loved tending to her garden filled with azaleas, cuddling with dogs and teaching her niece about the stock exchange. She lived a life of wonder and curiosity, finding beauty in all things ranging from Celtic tunes to natural remedies.
Pat is survived by her partner Agnes, siblings Connie and Joe, sisters Pat and Mary Jo, and her niece Jade, as well as several cousins, and hundreds of students.
A celebration of Pat’s life on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22 will begin at 10 a.m. where the family will greet guests until her funeral Mass beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Avenue, Chalfont, Pennsylvania. Interment will be private.
