Nicholas George Shaw, 80 of Point Pleasant, PA passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025 at The Birches at Newtown after a six-month battle with Fungal Meningitis.
Nick was born in West Chester, PA and lived on the same road in Point Pleasant, PA for 80 years. He was a 1962 graduate of Central Bucks High School and was on the baseball team for many years. Nick and his father were the owners of Nicholas Shaw & Son, Trophies, Plaques & Awards in Point Pleasant.
He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was a member of Knights of Pythias Lodge, Defiance #335, Newtown, PA. These lodge brothers were just that, his "Brothers" whom he loved. Nick always looked forward to the Clam Bake each year and unfortunately had to miss this one because he was in the hospital. We want to thank all of them for their prayers, love and support.
Nick was an avid outdoors man and loved hunting, fishing, and just watching wildlife from his stand. He loved the many Elk hunting trips to Colorado where he enjoyed hunting with his son, Brett and his grandsons. They would pack in on horses and set up everything themselves. He loved cutting down trees, splitting wood to heat their home. It was never a chore but enjoyment. Nick took such pride in his property and trimmed all the shrubbery, mulched, cut the grass and then sat back to enjoy seeing the finished product. He loved the garden and couldn't wait to can the vegetables and enjoy them all winter. He was a skilled craftsman and made an entrance door from scratch out of Chestnut for the custom timber frame home his son, Brett built in Colorado. It was Nick's pride and joy.
Nick was in the Air National Guard as a fuel specialist and won a Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. Nick so enjoyed his vacations to St. Martin in the Caribbean each year. The SXM family came from Paris, Canada, and all over the United States and met there each year about the same time. He will miss them all.
Nick was the beloved husband of Judy (Fulmor) Shaw for 54 years. He was the loving father of Brett A. Shaw and his wife, Rachel of Clark, CO. He was the grandfather of Wyatt, Mason, Jaxon, Charlee and Sienna Shaw of Clark, CO. He is survived by Judy's family, Janet & Eric Johnson, Edgar & Ruthann Fulmor who were a tremendous help and can't be thanked enough.
