Mildred C. Stampone of Doylestown, formerly of the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia, where her heart always was, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Chandler Hall. She was 92 years old and the beloved wife for 61 years of the late Anthony E. Stampone.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John B. Beccaria and Mildred R. Price and grew up in Fishtown.
Millie graduated from Mastbaum High School in 1945 and worked at Gilmer Rubber Co. as an administrative assistant. That is where she met her husband, Anthony, whom she married in 1950 and they had two children, Diane and Anthony.
She later worked at Strauss TV Repair and Penn Jersey Auto Stores corporate office as a payroll clerk in Northeast Philadelphia.
Millie’s hobbies included gardening, sewing, crocheting, cross stitching, ceramics, photography, going to the casinos and house decorating. She enjoyed being a housewife. Her biggest joy was entertaining family and friends in her home. She made many lasting memories for all of us with these events. Delicious food, laughter and family gatherings is what made Millie happy. She always managed to see the funny side of things with a sense of humor and a love of bling.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Bello, her husband, Joe, of Fountainville and son, Anthony Stampone, his wife, Beth, of Grasonville, Maryland and was a loving Nan of five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Millie is preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Weber.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 6 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown where the family will
greet guests from 9:30 a.m., until the time of Mass. The family will also greet guests from 6 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, November 5 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. Interment will follow Mass in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
