Michelle Ann Bryan (Holliday)

Michelle Ann Holliday Bryan, of Scranton, PA died suddenly on Friday, April 4, 2025 at home from chronic respiratory distress creating cardiac failure. She was 55.


Born December 4, 1969 in Doylestown, PA she was the daughter of Sharon Moorhead (Holliday) Schanbacker and the late Richard D. Holliday. 

Growing up in Doylestown, she graduated from Central Bucks West, class of 1988 and attended Temple University pursuing her photography passion. She worked for several years at the Daily Intelligencer and briefly at the Doylestown YMCA before moving to the Pocono region.  She married Andy Bryan (CB West class of 1987) father of her sons and they later divorced.  Raising her sons, she loved coaching Jamie's baseball teams and Stephen's soccer teams.

Michelle loved her family, photography, reading, listening to music, gardening, sewing, yard sales, cooking and baking. Her greatest loves were her sons and her beloved cats Tessie and Misty.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Sharon and Skip Schanbacker of Doylestown, PA; her sons: James Dupree Bryan of Scranton and Stephen Richard Bryan of Hawley, her brothers: David Holliday, his wife, Wendy of Sherman, Texas, and Richard (Ricky) Holliday of Pipersville, PA; her cousin, Erin Howard, her husband, Roger and daughter, Abigail of Matamoras, PA; her Aunt June Johnson and cousin, Drew Johnson of Milford, PA and many counsins.

Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 2025  at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 East Court Street, Doylestown, PA 18901, where the family will greet guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service.  Interment in Neshaminy Cemetery with her grandparents, Marjorie (Slack) and Dwight Moorhead will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Michelle’s name may be made to Doylestown Presbyterian Church at the address above noted for youth programs or to River Crossing YMCA Doylestown Branch, noted for the NORM 0-5K Running Program for At-Risk Youth, 2500 Lower State Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901.
