Michael P. Stachel

d. June 9, 2023

Michael Paul Stachel died on June 9, 2023 peacefully, surrounded by family. He was 87.

Mike was born in Doylestown to Alois and Caroline Stachel.

He was a proud graduate of Central Bucks High School. He met the love of his life Arlene Edith Kepner Stachel and they were happily married for 62 years.

Mike was a community leader and well known as co-owner of Mt. Lake Pool and Patio, an iconic business in Doylestown for more than 60 years. He had an unrelenting passion for helping others in need. One of Mike’s most dedicated projects was the Doylestown Borough Dam Fishing Project. The project saved the borough dam from being filled in and created an annual fishing event for young children, handicapped veterans, senior citizens and the community.

Mike had a love for flying and traveled the world with his wife and children. Mike and Arlene have been to more countries than they could count, making friends all over the world. He loved music and dancing. Together with his wife they were known to always be the first on the dance floor.

Mike treated everyone with kindness and believed in having an open door policy to friends and neighbors. Their home on Mercer Avenue was affectionately known as “The Stachel Valley Country Club”.

Mike is survived by son, Michael Jr. (Tammy) and his daughters: Brittany and Shelby, his daughter, Kelly (Tom) and their children: Tom Jr., Madison (Anthony) and Danielle (TJ) along with great-grandchildren: Tiller, Maisey and Paxton, his loving companion, Sandy, as well as his brother, Joe (Patty) and sister, Helen.   Mike’s wife, Arlene, and his siblings: Alois, John, Honey, Theresa, and Karl preceded him in death.

To honor his request, no formal services will be held. A celebration of his life will be held privately.

Memorial contributions in Mike’s name may be made to: “The Friends of the Borough Dam” c/o Mike Stachel, 10 Doyle Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
