Mary Wright of Gardenville passed away on April 11, 2023 at home, surrounded by her family. She was 76 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the sixth of seven children of Joseph and Mary (Carroll) McGinnis.
She is survived by her husband, William E. Wright, and her three children: Theresa Stout, William F. Wright and Jacqueline Wright, by eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, as well as her four sisters: Barbara Arnold, Geri Schueller, Nancy Watts and Maureen Frey and her sisters-in-law, Gerri Grill and Nancy McGinnis. She is preceded in death by brothers: Joseph McGinnis and Thomas McGinnis and her mother and father-in-law, Ethel and Ernest Wright.
Mary graduated from Lansdale Catholic High School in 1964. She managed the Hillcrest Dairy Farm Store for her father up until 1999 and then transferred those skills to a managerial position at Wawas throughout Bucks County. When she was not working, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She was well known for her Easter egg hunts and magical Christmas mornings. In her free time, she enjoyed the beach and trips to Parx Casino with her family (and always stopping to get some old fashioned rum raisin ice cream on the way home).
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 20 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown where the family will greet guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. The family will also receive guests from 6 and 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
