Mary K. Howe a life long resident of Doylestown died on Friday, April 13,2018 at Pine Run Health Care Center. She was 100 years old and the wife of the late Joseph W. Howe.
Born in Doylestown Township, she was the daughter of the late Morton House Kalbach and Clara Reed Kalbach.
Mary was a graduate of Doylestown High School, class of 1936 and had a long list of membership and leadership rolls in community, county and statewide organizations, including Junior Woman’s Club, a Charter member Fire Company Auxiliary, St. Paul’s Guild, Nature Club, Bucks County March of Dimes, Doylestown Historical Society, GOP Executive Committee, Shade Tree Commission, Questers International, Penna. Assessors Association.
Mary retired as the Executive Director of the Bucks County Board of Assessment. An avid gardner, she loved her flowers. She and Husband Joe enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and especially their trip to St. Petersburg, Russia.
She is survived by her son: Charles, his wife, Katherine, of Punta Gorda, FL; her grandsons: Charles and Douglas, his wife, Dominque; her step-sons: Bryan Hopkins, his wife, Amy, and Paul Hopkins and her great-grandsons: Charles Joseph Howe and Lucas Zorn Hopkins.
A Celebration of Life Requiem will be 1 p.m., June 20, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Doylestown. Interment will be at St. Paul’s.
