Marjean Marie (Cicero) Rackovan passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at age 69. She was daughter of the late Anita and Mario Cicero, wife for 43 years of Dave Rackovan and mother of David and Anita.
Born in 1952, Marjean grew up in Carrolltown, PA, having attended St. Francis University in Loretto prior to earning a Master of Education degree at Pennsylvania State University. Her 44-year career in education spanned a range of leadership roles, from principal of a small private school to veteran teacher at an inner-city Philadelphia school.
Marjean will be remembered for her devotion as a wife, mother and teacher; her love of the beach and gardening; her sense of humor; her kindness and patience and her lifelong friendships. In her final five years, she lived for her three grandchildren: McGraw, Shay and Bridget.
In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, Marjean is survived by her sister, Denise and her brothers: Jim and Larry. She is predeceased by her brothers: Tom and Dennis.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Friday, August 13, 2021 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, where the family will greet guests from 10 to 10:45 a.m.. A visitation will also be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. Marjean’s interment will be Monday, August 16 in St. Benedict Church Cemetery, 201 East Carroll Street, Carrolltown, PA.
