Marguerite Spring

On March 30, Marguerite Spring (Raimbeau) of Warminster passed away at the age of 87.

She was quick to laugh and was a feisty one. At age seven, she was placed in an orphanage along with her two younger sisters after her mother died. From the stories she told, she wasn’t a model resident especially when separated from her younger sisters. She carried that feistiness into Catholic grade school and beyond.

She was born in Providence, RI and raised in Central Falls. She graduated from Central Falls High School and was married to Hans Spring for 53 years. Marguerite and Hans traveled many times to Europe and visited family in Switzerland, where Hans was raised. She enjoyed a special relationship with sister-in-law Erika. She and her husband explored most of the eastern coast of our beautiful country as well a few trips to the west coast. They started their family in Reading, MA and later settled in Yardley, PA, where they spent 44 yrs.

Marguerite enjoyed many activities in her life, tennis and water-color painting among them. She was especially proud of her 4.0 grade point average when she earned her Associate’s Degree later in life. She worked off and on as a secretary, though gardening seemed to be her favorite activity. Marguerite’s green thumb was inherited from her father, and she took great pride in growing flowers, shrubs and vegetables. She enjoyed spending time on the water, from trips to the St. Lawrence River and Narragansett Bay as a child, to Moosehead Lake, the Jersey Shore and the Outer Banks as an adult.

Marguerite took great care of her husband, who had arthritis. She cooked healthy foods for him before it became popular. She was very proud of her three children: David, Barbara and Daniel, as well as her five grandchildren: Jillian, Emily, Max, Jackie and David. She was predeceased by her husband Hans, her parents Adelard and Sylvia Raimbeau; her sister Alice, to whom she was very close; and brother in-law Peter Spring.

Marguerite passed away peacefully and on her own terms. She is survived by her children David (Debby) Spring, Barbara (Steve) Politowski, and Daniel and grandchildren Jillian and Emily Spring, Max Politowski, Jackie and David Spring, as well as a niece and three nephews.

Services and interment will be private.
