Margaret June (Golle) McIntyre, 89, of Doylestown, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by family on September 14, 2018. Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Margaret was born in Philadelphia to the late Walter J. and Laura G. Corson Golle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley J. Brooks.
She was the loving wife of her late husband, Rev. Robert N. McIntyre for 67 years. She served devotedly as the pastor’s wife and as a Sunday School teacher faithfully working by his side at three churches in Bucks County, PA: St. Philips R.E. Church in Warminster (1955), Emmanuel R.E. Church of Four Brooks in Pipersville (1962) and Redemption R.E. Church, Center Valley/Quakertown (1991). She worked as a teaching assistant at the Emmanuel R. E. Church Preschool and as registrar, cook and recreational director at Four Brooks Reformed Episcopal Bible Conference in Pipersville. At the 1740 House in Lumberville, PA, she served as the receptionist. She also accompanied her husband as they extended the denominational borders to the west coast of the United States as part of the Board of National Church Extension.
She was the proud mother of her surviving children: Melody McIntyre Nichols (Ted), Doylestown, with whom she resided for the past eleven years, Robin Lynn Swann (Douglas), Clayton, CA, Dawn Sherrie Miller (Mark), Sanford, FL and Robert Keith McIntyre (Sandy), Perkasie. She was lovingly called Mom Mom and Grandma by her six grandchildren: Jayme Chen (Channing), TX, Megan Atoigue (Adam), CA, T. Philip Nichols, TX, Brittany Miller, PA, Marshal Miller, PA, Rylee McIntyre, PA and five great-grandchildren Ian, Karis, Callum and Annie Chen and Avery Atoigue and her one surviving sister is Marlene J. Trautman of Naples, FL. She was “Aunt Margie” to numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown where friends may call from 9:30 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will be private in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
