Lowell M. Howard, affectionately known as Mark, brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. Born on October 13, 1940, in Silver Creek, NY, he led a life full of passion, adventure, and, of course, a great sense of humor. Mark passed away on January 10, 2025, in Doylestown, PA, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.
Mark's professional journey was one of growth and evolution. His military service as a Crew Chief in the Marines instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that carried throughout his life. Outside the military he started his career with Pacific Telephone before moving on to AT&T. His expertise never ceased to impress, and he took his talents into IT consulting, rounding out his career with American Airlines Pilots Union (APA).
Mark embraced life with both arms wide open. He held a commercial pilots license, and loved soaring through the skies in his Cessna 172. While his adventurous spirit found an outlet on the golf course, his enthusiasm didn't stop there; Mark was hands-on, working on everything from cars to model trains and model airplanes! He was the go-to person for anyone looking to build or renovate their home, always ready to lend a hand to friends and family alike with his knowledge and drive.
Travel was one of Mark’s greatest joys. He took delight in visiting family far and wide, ensuring that connections remained strong creating lasting memories. His passion for exploration complemented his love for life itself.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Nancy, his siblings, Sandy Drake (Sister) and Dan Howard (Brother). The joy of his life also came from his children: Robert Howard (Susan), Robin Howard (Pete), Peter Craig (Bo), Mark Howard (Cathy), and Christian Howard (Tricia). Mark delighted in being a grandfather to 10 wonderful grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to 6, whose lives he touched with love and laughter.
As we celebrate the life of Lowell (Mark) Howard, let us remember him for his funny stories, his generous spirit, and his remarkable ability to bring people together. His kind spirit will live on in hearts of his family and friends.
