Linda Margit Josefsson Smith of Buckingham PA died suddenly Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the age of 71.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Folke and Margit Thyberg Josefsson.
Linda grew up in the Wissinoming community of Philadelphia where she was a long time member of Hope Lutheran Church. She was also a proud 1st generation SWEDISH AMERICAN and an active member of Oscars Borg Lodge No. 172 for many, many years.
Linda graduated from Frankford High School in 1962 and was dedicated & involved in numerous music programs there. While attending Frankford she met the love of her life, the late Dale O. Smith and shared nearly 50 years of marriage until 2013.
Linda worked at Sears on Roosevelt Blvd as an accountant and doer of whatever had to be done until she started a family in 1969. In 1984, they moved to Buckingham in Bucks County, PA where she began to work at Peddler’s Village. She worked at the Shady Lamp Shop, then later The Mole Hole for over 25 years!
Linda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamison and more recently was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
Linda loved her friends and family very much. She was devoted to her sons, Erik M. Smith (Dina) and Bryan S. Smith (Liz) and her grandchildren, Kayla, Matthew, Andrew and Timothy Smith and step grandchildren Dennis and Rachel Duffy.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday evening, June 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Rd., Doylestown and Thursday, June 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. Her funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. and an interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery.
