LeRoy Joseph “Roy” Fetterman of Quakertown, formerly of Doylestown, passed away, Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017.
A proud American, Roy served his country as a senior master sargeant in the United States Air Force. Roy was a Korean War veteran and retired after serving 30 years of service.
After retiring, Roy earned a degree in American Studies from BCCC and later held the positions of Doylestown Township Manager, Warminster Township Manager and Kidder Township Manager for a combined 20 years of service to the local community. In his last 12 years, Roy worked with Bucks County Transport Authority as a driver, caring for those needing support, and also as their Public Relations Liaison.
Roy is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 61 years, Lorraine (Mirarchi) Fetterman. Forever a loving father, he also leaves behind his three children, Gary (Elizabeth) Fetterman, Alan (Sherrie) Fetterman and Diane (Fetterman) Smith (Edward). Roy also leaves behind nine wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren, all whom he loved dearly.
Roy left everyone around him with a smile on their face using his humor and bright eyes to share laughter. He is loved greatly by many and will be profoundly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. His interment will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, promptly at 10:45 a.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
