Leanne Frick Kirk of Doylestown went on to be with her Lord on February 25th, 2018. She was 79 years old. Leanne was born in Forty Fort, PA, the daughter of Earl J. Frick and Grace Lutes Frick of Doylestown and Ship Bottom, Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
Leanne graduated from Central Bucks High School in the class of ‘56, where she enjoyed choir, theater and was their cheerleading captain. She graduated from Bloomfield College (Bloomfield, NJ) in the class of ‘61 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and the honor of being Homecoming Queen. She worked for the Commission for the Blind in Newark, New Jersey before marrying and raising a family. Later in life, she enjoyed working as a teacher’s aide in nursery schools and day care.
She loved singing with the choirs of Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church (Union, New Jersey), Celebration Singers (New Providence, New Jersey), The Wayne Choralaires (Wayne, Pennsylvania) and back home at the Doylestown Presbyterian Church. For many years she sang with The Masterwork Chorus (Morristown, New Jersey), which annually sang Handel’s Messiah at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Leanne also loved travel, theater, arts and crafts, the outdoors and spending time with family and children. She often volunteered at the Pine Run Health Center and made teddy bears for children in Doylestown Hospital.
Leanne was pre-deceased by her husband, George David Kirk (Bloomfield, New Jersey) whom she married at Doylestown Presbyterian Church in 1962. They raised a family in Union, New Jersey before moving to Walker Lake (Shahola, Pennsylvania), Hemlock Farms (Lords Valley, Pennsylvania) and then returning to Doylestown where they became active members of the Pine Run Retirement Community. Leanne is survived by her son, Scott, of Edison, New Jersey, daughter, Bonnie, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, son, Douglas and daughter-in-law, Theresa, of West Orange, New Jersey as well as her sisters: Miriam Bach of Doylestown and Caryl Tressler, of Warrenton, Virginia.
Her memorial service is at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 17 at Doylestown Presbyterian Church in Doylestown, followed by a reception. For additional details and photos, please visit the website at www.LeanneKirk.net
