Kenneth Howard Newbrough, known affectionately as Kenny, passed away on August 7, 2024 at his home in Frankford, Delaware.
Ken was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on September 6, 1943. He had three siblings: Carolyn, Gail and Cheryl.
Kenneth was a career military man, having served in the Navy. He bravely served his country in the Vietnam war as an airman. Kenneth earned several awards for his service including the National Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, and Armed Forces Reserve Medal.
After Ken retired from the Navy, he became an electronics teacher at the Middle Bucks Vocational Technical School where he helped young people learn a valuable skill.
Kenneth had a wide variety of hobbies and interests. Kenny was a motorcycle enthusiast and took many road trips with friends. He loved music and played the guitar in a band while he was in the Navy. He enjoyed amateur radio, golfing, and metal detecting. Ken also loved going to the beach and spending time at his home in Florida.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Peggy, daughters: Kim Schoetz and Jennifer Zimmerman, and his grandchildren: Matthew, Ryan, Jessica, Colby and Cade.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 22 at Davisville Church, 325 Street Road, Southampton where the family will greet guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.
