Joan Anciaux of Doylestown, died on March 13, 2018, surrounded by family and friends, a week before her 96th birthday.
Born in Birmingham, England, she married Robert Anciaux in 1944, and came to Doylestown in 1946. She and Robert spent many happy years at the house they built on Easthill Drive. They were fortunate to enjoy caring and supportive neighbors. After Robert’s passing, Joan moved to Pine Run and found a new community of friends and neighbors.
Joan worked in the catalog department of Sears & Roebuck for 25 years. She loved plants and was an active member of the Doylestown Nature Club and enjoyed swimming at Central Bucks YMCA until she was 88 years old.
She is survived by her son, Michael, his wife, Wendy, of Alamo, CA; her grandchildren, Emily and Erik Anciaux, Todd and Troy Sheaffer and Laurie Davis. Also surviving are her brother, Ronald Godding, his wife, Edna, and her sister, Barbara Probert, all of England.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her daughter, Anita Sheaffer.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service which will be held on what would have been Joan’s 96th birthday, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 1 p.m., at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. Interment will be private
