Janet I. Punzak of Doylestown passed away on December 7, 2024.
A native of Philadelphia, PA, Janet was born in Delaware County, November 2, 1932 to her parents, Justin McCarthy and Florence (Larsen, McCarthy, Gillessen) Reed. Janet attended elementary and high school in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Later in her life, she graduated with an Associate degree in Arts & Sciences from Penn State, Abington, PA campus.
Janet’s life centered around her family. She was the proud mother of six children, eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. The children were raised in Huntingdon Valley. Janet was an active parishioner of St. Albert the Great parish and instrumental in the founding of the parish school library. Janet was a resident of Doylestown since 1994 and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. She was a member of the Women’s Club of Huntingdon Valley and the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown.
She was a Realtor for 35 years (had also been with Honeywell, Fort Washington in the 1980’s). While at Honeywell, Janet met her husband, Jack. They enjoyed traveling to different states and trips to island locations. Her favorite place to be with her family was on the beach in Ocean City, NJ.
In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by daughter, Kathleen Golka (Edward) of Fort Mill, SC; daughter, Luann Casey of Glenside; daughter, Sharon Guthier (Frank) of Jamison; son, Thomas Casey of Orlando FL; daughter, Gail Troutman (John) of Lancaster; son, Michael Casey (Roseann) of Hatboro, PA. Grandchildren: Alison White of Huntersville, NC; Darcy Balcer (Sonja) of London, ENG; Liam Casey of Boston, MA; Justin Guthier (Lindsay) of Center Valley, PA; Matthew Guthier (Julie) of Wayne, PA; Emily Guthier of Philadelphia; Valerie Casey Ross (Justin) of Lexington, SC; Gregory Troutman (Chantel) of Philadelphia; Madeline Troutman Good (Trevor) of Wilmington, DE; Michael Casey of Conshohocken PA and Anna Casey of Hatboro, PA, as well as her great-grandchildren: Arthur, Casey and Bridget White; Declan, Niall, Mave and Rosaleen Guthier; Noel, Henry and Margot Guthier and Riley Balcer.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, where the family will greet guests from 9 a.m., until 9:45. Interment will follow Mass in Doylestown Cemetery.
There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown.
