James R. Lesher of Doylestown, died on Sunday, May 5, 2024. He was 79 years old and devoted husband for fifty-five years of Marilyn Kutz Lesher. He was the proud father of four children: Andrew Lesher (Kristin) of Washington, DC, John Lesher (Jacqueline) of Cornelius, NC, Elizabeth Reidel (Jonathan) of West Hartford, CT and Emily Henry (Louis) of Scarsdale, NY and caring grandfather of seven grandchildren: Caroline, Graham, and Davis Lesher; Claire and Charlotte Reidel and Anna and Grace Henry. He is also survived by a nephew, Jeffrey Lesher. James was predeceased by his brother, Adam “Mel” Lesher.
Born in Lebanon, PA, James was the son of the late Elwood “Woody” and Marcella Arnold Lesher.
He was a graduate of Annville-Cleona High School, Lebanon Valley College and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. A Certified Public Accountant and member of the AICPA, he worked in the insurance and financial planning industries for most of his career.
Mr. Lesher was an antique car enthusiast with a particular passion for restoring and showing Austin Healey sports cars. He was happiest attending the various sporting events of his grandchildren, capturing photographs, and caring for his Old English Sheepdogs.
Friends and family are invited to his memorial service at 11 a.m., Monday, May 13 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where the family will greet guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
