James F. Stitzinger, Sr. of Doylestown died at home on Thursday, April 27. He was 92 and the loving husband for 70 years of the late Elizabeth B. Stitzinger, who passed in 2014.
Born in Jenkintown, James was the son of the late Harold G. and Helen Speelman Stitzinger.
He lived most of his life in Bucks County. He was a proud WW II veteran (3rd Army, 395th infantry Regiment, 95th infantry division, Company K) who served his country in the European front participating in liberation of France, Germany, and Belgium and the famous march to liberate Bastogne under Gen. George Patton. He was one of the “lron Men of Metz.” He also served in the Military Police.
He was a devoted husband, father, businessman, an entrepreneur, as well as a spiritual mentor of numerous men, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a great steward of land acquisition who loved his family farms.
Surviving are his four children and their spouses: James Stitzinger, Jr. (Debby), Han Stitzinger, (Cheryl), Michael Stitzinger (Barbara), and Heidi Stitzinger Smith (David), as well as 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his fifth child and beloved son, Erich.
Relatives and friends are invited to his grave side service at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 4, on the family farm.
