Imogene E. Shaffer of Doylestown passed away on December 13 at Doylestown Hospital. She was 95 years old and the wife of the late John W. Shaffer.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Mary E. Rowland McKeny.
Imogene was the devoted wife of John W. Shaffer, deceased and devoted mother of John W. Shaffer, Jr., deceased and William M. Shaffer, deceased and beloved aunt of Allison and Leslie.
Imogene was a wonderful homemaker, gifted dessmaker, millner and gardener. She also enjoyed painting and drawing. Her hands were always busy using her God given talents. She loved animals and her dogs lived a pampered life.
Imogene faced many challenges in her life with grace and dignity. She enjoyed living at Wesley Enhance Living in Doylestown the last six years of her life.
Her life reflected God’s love in so many lovely ways. She was a gentle lady. She was dearly loved and will be truly missed.
She is survived by her nieces: Allison Carrico (Manny) and Leslie J. Stay (John) and her great nieces: Jennifer M. Drakas (Gary) and Jessica M. Warfel (Jacob), as well as many great-great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at 12 p.m., Friday, December 23 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where the family will greet guests from 11 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 850 Highland Road, Newtown.
