It is with profound sorrow that the Brauer Family announces the passing of George W. “Skip” Brauer, III on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. He was 75.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late George W., Jr., and Geraldine Brauer.
George was a graduate of William Tennent High School in Warminster PA, class of 1965. Following graduation, George served in the U.S. Army and did a tour in Vietnam, during the war, having risen to the rank of Sergeant. After being discharged from the Army, he worked for Bell Telephone Company (Verizon) for more than thirty years, before retiring.
Over the years, George enjoyed playing guitar, ice hockey, golf and being a sportsman, as well as attending many, many family gatherings.
As a Veteran, George belonged to the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
He will be remembered as a great older brother and uncle.
George is survived by his mother, Geraldine, his brothers and sisters: Harry (Georgia), Florence (Sheldon), Jean, Charles (June), William, David, and Robert (Stefanie), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. George was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn, and his brothers, James, and “baby” John.
Relatives and friends are invited to George’s funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where the family will greet guests from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow the service in St. John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Rd, Chalfont, PA.
