Gene Rossi, 91, of Doylestown, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on September 26, 2018, after a brief illness.
Born in Brookly, NY he was the son of the late Peter and Camilla Sabini Rossi.
Gene graduated from Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, NY and Notre Dame University (BFA). He was an Air Crewman in the Navy Airforce during World War II.
Gene had a successful graphic design career in New York and Doylestown. Upon retirement, he pursued a lifelong passion for watercolor painting. His love of beautiful Doylestown and the Bucks County countryside was evident in many of his paintings and he exhibited at the prestigious Phillips Mill Art Show, as well as being included in the permanent collection of the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown. https://bucksco.michenerartmuseum.org/bucksartists/artist/366/
He is survived by his loving wife, Odette Rossi and his four children: Jeffrey (Jennifer), Jill (Kip), Mark (Carol) and Regina (Andrew) and his adoring grandchildren: Ryan, Hattie and Katie. A devoted lover of his feline, Nera and all his Cairn Terriers, Luther, Luke, Nicky and his current best buddie, Connor.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, John, Rose and Oliva.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow Mass in Doylestown Cemetery. A visitation will also be held Monday evening, October 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown.
