G. David Kirk of Doylestown, PA died on April 10, 2016. He was 77 years old and the husband for 53 years of Leanne Frick Kirk.

Born in Glen Ridge, NJ, David was a graduate of Bloomfield High School (Bloomfield, NJ) class of 1956 and of Bloomfield College in 1961, where he earned a double major in Chemistry and Mathematics. He continued his graduate studies at the University of San Francisco, earning a Masters in Toxicology.

David spent most of his career as the Corporate Director of Toxicology and Preventative Medicine for Merck and Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ. As a result of his work a standard was set to protect employees from chemical exposure which was adopted by most pharmaceutical companies across the globe.

David loved the outdoors. Upon retirement he founded the Twin and Walker Creeks Watershed Conservancy which ensured creeks and lakes in Pike County, PA remained pristine. He and his wife built a home there where he enjoyed fishing, traveling and wood working.

In addition to his wife, Leanne, David is survived by: his son, Scott Kirk of Edison, NJ; daughter, Bonnie Kirk of Carlisle, PA and son Douglas Kirk of of Ridgefield Park, NJ. Also surviving his brother Greg Kirk of Wall Township, NJ.

David was predeceased by his parents Helen and George Kirk, and his brother Richard D Kirk.
