Esther V. Hall of Dublin, PA died on July 26, 2016 at Souderton Mennonite Home. She was 82 years old and the wife of the late Robert A. Hall.
Born in Hilltown Township she was the daughter of the late Samuel H. and Ruth Bergey Detweiler.
Esther was loving, kind and generous with a dry sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially if she could cook for them. Her love of cooking even led to catering for a time. A long time member of Doylestown Mennonite Church she also volunteered for many years at Plumstead Christian School and later in life, at Doylestown Hospital’s Free Clinic.
Esther also enjoyed various crafts but focused primarily on stained glass “sun catchers” which she created with her husband. They sold them at various craft shows and even opened a small craft shop in their home for a time. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed word search puzzles and playing cards.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Moyer (Scott) and Lisa Hall, as well as two grandsons, Mathew Hall and Kevin Moyer. The eldest of ten, Esther is also survived by two sisters, Elaine Johnson and Betty Ann Tucker and brothers Paul, Robert, David, Samuel and James Detweiler. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Merrill and Dale.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 11 a.m., Saturday August 6, 2016 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where the family will receive guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
