Elizabeth Crouthamel of Hilltown, formerly a long time resident of Wycombe, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Pine Run Lakeview with her children by her side. She was 97 and the wife of the late Carl M. Crouthamel, Jr., who passed in 2010.
Born in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Geza and Julia Geresh Pongracz.
Betty was the loving mother of three children: Carl M. Crouthamel, III of Hilltown; Linda E. Glitzer of Quakertown and Kevin L. Crouthamel of Hume, VA; grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of fourteen.
Betty was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to all. She enjoyed nature, birds, animals, music, dancing, gardening, cooking, baking and entertaining family and friends. Betty’s strong faith, positive, cheerful and enthusiastic nature were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Betty worked for Crouthamel Machine Shop for many years doing office, packaging, shipping, receiving and production work.
She and her husband motored across America twice, toured the Canadian Maritime Provinces and visited five European countries. They were avid Phillies fans and attended spring training many times with their Phillies friends.
Betty was the last of her generation in her extended family and a wonderful example to all. Her family loved her deeply and she will be greatly missed.
