Elizabeth A. DeFrancis, a lifelong resident of Doylestown, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Doylestown Hospital. She was 89 and the wife of the late Chris DeFrancis, who passed away in 2013.
Born in Abington, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Helen Arcade.
Betty was very involved in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, as were her parents. She was involved with the Sons of Italy and served on the board of the Village Improvement Association. Betty also volunteered at Doylestown Hospital for over 15 years.
She served as a legal secretary for many lawyers who became judges and retired as a secretary, working for the Board of Assessments at the Bucks County Court House.
Betty was a gourmet cook who was famous for her pizelles.
Betty is survived by her son: Stephen C. DeFrancis, his wife, Ruth, and her grandson, Stephen H. DeFrancis, all of Glenside and her sister: Joanne A. Russo, of Yardley. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Madge Liss and Maryjane Molony.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow St. Mary Cemetery.
