Elaine E. Knorr, of Doylestown, passed away peacefully at Pine Run Health Care on Thursday, May 4, 2017. She was 83 and the wife of the late Forrest W. Knorr, who passed away in 1996.
Born in Doylestown, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen Schneck Ettenger.
Elaine graduated from Doylestown High School in 1952 after which she worked for Philadelphia Electric for a number of years. In 2005, she retired from Central Bucks School District after 25 years of serving as a cashier in the cafeterias of Holicong Middle School and Central Bucks East High School. After retirement she volunteered at Doylestown Hospital.
Elaine was loved and admired by many. She was very social and enjoyed talking to everyone. What she loved most was spending time with her family. She also loved to travel and had been on numerous Carribean cruises, trips to Ireland and her yearly vacation at the Jersey Shore.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Pine Run Health Care Center and Doylestown Hospice for their extreme care and compassion.
Surviving is her daughter: Pamela Knorr; her son, Jeffrey Knorr, his wife, Amy, her grandchildren, Lauren Knorr and Jeffrey Knorr, Jr., her sisters, Mary Health and Patricia Ament as well as her daughter-in-law, Heather (Knorr) Slawecki. Elaine was preceded in death by a son, Eric Knorr.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow Mass in Doylestown Cemetery.
