Dorothy Jean Harvey of Southampton, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, August 6, at Jefferson Abington Hospital. She was 89 and the wife of the late Albert Harvey.
Born in Lebanon, PA she was the daughter of the late Howard Swope and Emily Strack. Dorothy received a Bachelor of Science in 1959 from Drexel Institute of Technology (Drexel University) in Home Economics. She loved being a homemaker. Dorothy was a member of the North & Southampton Reformed Church where she was an Elder, Deacon, sang in the choir, participated in Bible study, Women’s Circle, and Aid for Friends. In her spare time she sold Avon and volunteered at the school library.
Her favorite pastimes were flower gardening, cooking and baking, antiquing, hosting family gatherings, and time with her grandchildren. She also loved Penn State football games and traveling to New England with her late husband. She is survived by her four children: Richard Harvey, Susan Dubrunfaut, David Harvey and Julia Simpson, as well as her eight grandchildren: Alexi Dubrunfaut, Evan Dubrunfaut, Matthew Harvey, Andrew Harvey, John Harvey, Elizabeth Harvey, Daniel Simpson and Kathryn Simpson.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at 2 p.m, Saturday, August 17 at North & Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Road, Churchville, where the family will greet guests from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Churchville Cemetery.
