Dorothy J. Bentz, born on October 31, 1933, departed this life peacefully on February 17, 2025, at Presbyterian Senior Living. She leaves behind a legacy marked by her intelligence, independence, and a dedicated work ethic that set her apart in both her career and personal life.

Dorothy pursued her education with diligence and graduated in 1949 at the age of 16 from the secretarial studies program at Saint Dominic Commercial School. Throughout her professional journey, her impressive skills and adaptability allowed her to navigate the evolving landscape of computing technology with ease. Later in her career, she served as an executive secretary within the law department at Prudential Insurance Company, a role in which she took great pride. After retiring, Dorothy continued to remain connected to her former workplace by serving as the treasurer for the Prudential Retired Employee Association. Her colleagues and friends admired her exceptional secretarial skills and the integrity she brought to her work.

A private person at heart, Dorothy held her own convictions closely and often followed her intuition in all her endeavors. Those who knew her fondly remember her beautiful blue eyes and unique laugh, which brought warmth and joy to many. In her leisure time, she found pleasure in simple joys, such as watching cooking shows and trying the recipes, enjoying the bountiful harvest from her husband Edward's vegetable garden, and savoring her passion as a connoisseur of good food and chocolate candy. She cherished the moments spent on traveling to Europe and bus trips with family and friends, creating lasting memories.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Edward, daughter, Michelle, son, Daniel, and daughter-in-law Maryellen. She was  grandmother to eight grandchildren and great-grandmother to fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, as well as her brothers: Harry Vandegrift, Michael Littley, and Daniel Littley. Additionally, she is remembered by her late son-in-law, Giovanni Pianti.

Dorothy J. Bentz will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her, and her impactful presence and steadfast spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
