Dolores K. Myers “Aunt Do” or “Do” to many, of Point Pleasant, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 19, 2017. She passed away peacefully at home. Do was 97 years old and the wife for 47 years of Ben C. Myers. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Born in Irvington, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late William and Minnie (Schneider) Keller.

Dolores was a constant presence at Point Pleasant Baptist Church where she was an active member for more than 80 years. She sang in the church choir and served as financial secretary for more than 60 years. Do was a member of the local Women’s Missionary Society and a lifetime and charter member of the Point Pleasant Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary having served since the auxiliary was formed in 1952. She was a great cook and served throughout her life in the church and fire company kitchens preparing fund-raising meals.

Do loved her Lord and her church. She was well known in Point Pleasant for always helping others and remembering major events in their lives with a card or phone call.

Dolores enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, and all things related to the home. She particularly looked forward to summer vacations in North Hero, VT.

In addition to her husband, Do is survived by her son, Bill Slotter (Sue Fuerst), her grandson, Christian Slotter (Andrew Dietz), her niece, Susan Bowman (Michael) and her cousin, Lance Schneider (Alma). She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Muller.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
