Daniel A. Nesi, M.D., passed away Friday, Sep. 14, 2018, peacefully at his home in Furlong, surrounded by his beloved family. He was 81.
Dr. Nesi, son of the late Mary and Lawrence Nesi, was born in Scranton, Pa. He was preceded in death by his precious son, Robert (9/6/1961- 5/29/2000).
Dr. Nesi is survived by his dear wife, Suzanne; his beloved children: Elizabeth (Newbee) and Susan; his grandchildren: Diego, Paolo, Tonio and Vasco Sierra, and Oona Nesi Bradlee, who all brought him immeasurable joy.
Dr. Nesi, former Chief of Staff at Doylestown Hospital, will be remembered as an accomplished physician, philanthropist and entrepreneur. He will also be remembered for his service in the U.S. Army as the sole ENT surgeon for 25,000 troops and dependents.
He was honored by Temple Medical School for his dedication, generosity and commitment to medicine and the donation of the Robert V. Nesi Student Union at Temple Medical School in honor of his late son and family. He also founded the Ann Silverman Health Clinic of Doylestown and was a founding member of the James A. Michener Museum and The Community Conservatory of Doylestown. Dr. Nesi, also sat on the Board of the Bucks County Choral Society and both Monument and Premier Banks.
Services will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Doylestown. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sep. 20, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Sep. 21. Services immediately following at 11 a.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, Dan and the family request donations to the Ann Silverman Health Clinic and Doylestown Hospital.
