Charlotte M. Kane

d. March 11, 2022

Charlotte Miller Kane, 82, of Warrington, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday March 11, 2022, at The Garden at Pine Run.

Charlotte was born in Abington, Pennsylvania, the youngest daughter of the late Charles Whit Miller and Kathryn Fretz Miller, sister of the late Mary Miller Pughe, and late J. David Miller.

Charlotte grew up and lived in Doylestown until moving to Warrington in the mid 1980’s where she lovingly restored and decorated her home, sharing the calming presence of her pond with God’s creatures.

Charlotte graduated from Goucher College and embarked on a more than 40-year career teaching elementary school in Springfield Township Public Schools.

Following her mother’s example, Charlotte was a lifelong member of the Doylestown Presbyterian Church and integrated her faith into all aspects of her life. Charlotte sought to improve the lives of others including volunteering in the prison ministry, teaching ESL and providing financial support to causes, large and small, whose missions bettered the lives of those less fortunate than she. The majority of her generosity went unrecognized by anyone except the recipients. She viewed it simply a piece of who she was as a spiritual being. Finding herself in need of additional spiritual support, she started a bible study group for women through which she and others found great comfort, connection and friendship.

Charlotte loved to travel, from skiing in Vermont, horseback riding in Canada to her final big trip to Morocco including a camel ride across the desert. She enjoyed collecting early American folk art, crafts, antiques and especially anything from the Bucks County region. She was a partner in the Teasel Craft Shop in Doylestown showcasing local handmade gifts. She treasured time with her prayer group, bible study and other friends, enjoying the Philadelphia Orchestra, House and Garden tours, the Flower Show and the theater.

There will be a celebration and remembrance of Charlotte at 11 a.m, Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 East Court Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 where there will be the opportunity from 10:30 until the time of the service to visit with Charlotte’s friends in the Celtic Cross Room and again following the service. Interment will be private.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers and friends who supported and cared for Charlotte during the past several years.

The family asks those wishing to make a donation in Charlotte’s honor, consider doing so to one of Charlotte’s treasured charities: Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic, 595 West State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 ( www.aschealthclinic.org/donatenow ); Mennonite Central Committee, P.O.
