Charles W. Bredow of Doylestown passed away on Sunday, May 5 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 80 and the husband of Elizabeth G. Bredow.
Born in Lawrenceville, Kansas he was the son of the late Margaret and Ernest Bredow.
Charles went to North Illinois University, transferring to Drexel University. He was employed by Rohm and Haas as a chemist for 45 years and was a member of their fire department. While at Rohm and Haas he became treasurer of the credit union and found a love for numbers, becoming a tax accountant for more than 50 years. To assist with his tax business he became an Enrolled Agent to represent clients with Federal tax issues.
In his free time, Mr. Bredow was an active member of Lenape Valley Church, where he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, teaching Sunday School and the Youth Group as well as being a Boy Scout Leader. He also enjoyed time at the shore, reading, playing Soduko and watching sports. His true love through the course of his life was spending quality time with this family whether it was family trips or holidays.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Richard Bredow, his wife, Gwen and Jerrold Bredow, his wife, Emily, as well as his grandchildren: Rachael Hustad, her husband, Madison, Rebekah Bredow, Samantha Bredow and Grace Bredow.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 11 at Lenape Valley Church, 321 West Butler Avenue, New Britain. Interment will be in Neshaminy Warwick Cemetery, Warwick.
