Charles Cianciarulo

d. August 6, 2023

Charles Cianciarulo of Doylestown passed away on Sunday, August 6. He was 87 years old and the loving husband of the late Nancy Hatch Cianciarulo.

Born in Philadelphia, he is the son of the late Arthur and Beatrice D’Orazio Cianciarulo.

Charlie was a graduate of North Catholic High School in Philadelphia and Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He spent his entire career in supply chain management within the semi-conductor industry with the same organization, originally RCA, which went through acquisitions and mergers, becoming GE, Harris Semiconductors and Intersil Corporation until his retirement in 2002.

Charlie’s entire life was dedicated to spending time with his family. He traveled to the beach almost every single summer on vacation with his family, whether it was the Outer Banks, Delaware or Florida, he looked forward to vacation every year. Although he never actually liked the beach, he loved going to simply spend time with all of his children and grandchildren. He most recently went on his second cruise with his family and enjoyed spending the week with those he loved most. He also loved going to all his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events, cheering them on at more games than can be counted.

Charlie LOVED all Philadelphia sports, but especially the Eagles. He was so ecstatic when they won the Super Bowl, there’s even video evidence. He cherished watching any and all games with his family including the Eagles, Penn State, Phillies, Flyers and Sixers. Throughout his entire life Charlie loved playing basketball and teaching his children and grandchildren the “right way” to play.

In his free time outside of spending time with family, he enjoyed spending time at the gym, riding his stationary bike in most recent years, playing dominoes and cards with friends, and meeting former coworkers for lunch. He also enjoyed volunteering at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church helping to count the weekly collections, as well as working at his local polling location.

Charlie’s entire family will miss him dearly, as he was the most caring, thoughtful, selfless, and amazing father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his children: Charlene Cianciarulo (Eddie), Roberta Cianciarulo (Chris), Chuck Cianciarulo (Ann) and Lisa Helveston (Andy), as well as his grandchildren: Jimmy Ferguson (Lydia), David Ferguson, Wesley Pickett (Katey), Lauren Pickett, Nicole Hoy (Joe), Christina Cianciarulo (Jeff), Lauren Helveston, Krista Helveston and AJ Helveston and great-grandchildren: Xander Ferguson and Mia Hoy.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass, at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 11 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown where the family will greet guests from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
