Charles “Bud” Mcnally, Jr.

d. June 18, 2021

Charles “Bud” McNally, Jr., beloved father, husband, friend, bass player and lover of all, died suddenly on June 18th, 2021. He was doing what he loved, riding his bike with his wife on the towpath of the Delaware canal, when he succumbed to a sudden heart attack. He had just turned 63.

Bud lived his life fully and happily, sharing his light, love and laughter with everyone he encountered. He was a gifted musician, with perfect pitch, a lover of harmony in music and in life. Among many, many things, he loved games, Chuck Taylor sneakers, math, his friends and taking care of people, especially those who were sad, lonely or vulnerable. By far, his greatest love and source of pride was his son Max.

Bud is survived by his wife, Lynn; son, Max, his wife Megan; sister, Dawn McNally Andrews and her family, Uncle Frank McNally and many beloved cousins. He is also survived by his wide chosen family in Glenside and Narberth, his musician brothers in five bands: RedX, Rake, Cold Spring Creamery, the Walking Flukes and August, and countless friends. No one would ever argue who was his best friend because there were many. He was blessed and a blessing and will be extraordinarily missed.

A celebration of Bud’s life will be held from 12 until 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 29th  at Maennerchor Field, 3650 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown PA. Chucks optional.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army ( https://give.salvationarmyusa.org ) or WXPN Musicians on Call ( https://xpn.org/about-xpn/moc ).
